We are holding a financial literacy contest for our members (ages 7+). Goal is to educate kids about the concept of money.
For kids less than 7 years of age, we will have an interactive activity using rupee notes and coins at the van.
The contest is a series of 5 tasks that kids need to complete on their own.
Each task is geared towards a financial concept:
1) Income
2) Expense
3) Spending - Needed spending vs. Optional spending
4) Imaginative thinking
5) Pricing

There are 5 tasks and the directions are below. You can print and use it for your submission. Or you can get a copy at the van
Complete the 5 tasks and score of each task is out of 20 (total 100 points)
For task #3, parents need to take their kids to a general store and allow them to spend some money independently. Any amount of money is okay. Allow the child to pay themselves and receive the change.
Parents should only guide – please do not give any specific ideas or help them with writing. Spelling mistakes are okay
Winning entries will be judged based on the points scored and the age of the child
Each of the winners will get:
1) Gyan Library t-shirt
2) Certificate
The winning entries will be also published on our website.
Please submit your entries when you visit the bus by Sunday, April 16th. Winners will be announced on Monday, April 17th.
